Austin, TX – The Young Conservatives of Texas announced today that they are endorsing Michael Pearce for State Representative in House District 55.

The seat in District 55 is being vacated by Republican Diane White Delisi.  There are currently 4 Republican candidates in the race.

David White, State Chairman of YCT stated, “Of the 4 candidates, Pearce stands out as the clear choice for conservatives.  Michael Pearce has the courage and character to stand on principle and fight on behalf of conservative values in the Texas Legislature.”

Pearce, a former teacher for Killeen ISD, has moved on to start a successful and innovative education consulting business.

“Michael Pearce’s record as a teacher and entrepreneur prove that he is able to think outside-of-the-box to better serve students and families.  We need this sort of leadership in Austin.  Michael will surely be an important voice in the legislature on education reform as Texas attempts to address its most pressing issue,” said Tony McDonald, Vice Chairman of YCT.

YCT uses questionnaires and personal interviews along with meticulous research to identify each candidate’s positions on the issues before making their endorsement decisions.

The Young Conservatives of Texas is a non-partisan grassroots political organization that has been fighting for conservative values for more than a quarter century in the Lone Star State. You can learn more about their organization at http://www.yct.org/.

Mike Pearce's Comments: "I am honored and humbled to receive this highly coveted endorsement. Support from the Young Conservatives of Texas clearly sets me apart from the rest of my opponents as the true conservative in the District 55 race; they recognize me as the candidate who will bring about positive change both fiscally and socially. To receive a unanimous endorsement from the YCT's Executive Committee demonstrates that grassroots conservatives see promise and hope in my message of fiscal responsibility, legislative accountability, and moral dependability."
This show of support comes on the heels of public endorsements by the Texas Eagle Forum, Peggy Venable (Americans for Prosperity), and State Board of Education members Ken Mercer, Gail Lowe, and Terri Leo.
